The less you know, the better. To be philosophical, to be dogmatic, to be doctrinaire -- this is easy.

Passed down via numerous lineages, some of which originated in the Indus valley five or six thousand years ago, Tantra is a non-dualistic path which reached its height between the seventh and the thirteenth centuries.

TANTRA is not intellectual, it is not philosophical. Doctrine is meaningless to it. It is concerned with method, with technique -- not with principles at all. The word `tantra' means technique, the method, the path. So it is not philosophical -- note this. It is not concerned with intellectual problems and inquiries. It is not concerned with the "why" of things, it is concerned with "how"; not with what is truth, but how the truth can be attained.

TANTRA means technique. Science is not concerned with why, science is concerned with how. That is the basic difference between philosophy and science. Philosophy asks, "Why this existence?" Science asks, "How this existence?" The moment you ask the question, how?, method, technique, become important. Theories become meaningless; experience becomes the center.

Tantrism is harmonious, peaceful, against violence. Spontaneity and openness instead of an artificially put on morality, hypocrisy and puritanism. The non duality will return one to the entirety, while she recognizes divine in himself, instead of the binary thinking. Liberalism, tolerance and directness with which the absolute freedom of thinking will be experienced, instead of timorous, religious and intellectual speculation. Love instead of sexual exploitation.

The esteem before the nature instead of the exploiting of resources. The absolute freedom instead of dogmas of all kind. No church, no state, no social, religious or sexual regulations and no restrictions for certain food. All these values are indications of an unlimited respect of the freedom which is own to every person in the same way.

Tantrism may be the way back, the offer to return to this freedom, without losing itself in search of external hallucinations.
